02 — The logic

Why each one works

Three sensible answers to three different problems

XYXX · scale

A cheap front door into a wide catalogue

With ₹192 Cr of revenue, ≈$38.8M raised and everything from briefs to parkas on the shelf, XYXX needs first-time customers in volume. Five undies for ₹999 is the lowest price per piece of the three and 63% of its ads point at that one page. The wardrobe gets sold afterwards. Running creators' own reels as paid ads — a third of its library — is how you keep 2,282 creatives from going stale.

FREECULTR · focus

One range, argued on fabric, sold to two audiences

At a tenth of XYXX's size, spreading thin would leave everything unsupported. So 99% of its ads land on one range. It cannot win on price — ₹286 a piece against ₹200 — so 63% of its ads argue fabric instead, and the weekday printed on each waistband builds the reason to buy seven into the product. A third of its ads address women, a space neither competitor contests.

Bummer · leverage

Buy attention with ideas, not with media

₹10.7 Cr of revenue and ≈$1.85M raised does not fund a large media plan. So 87% of the ad library is a cheap automated feed, and the real work happens elsewhere: brand-to-brand giveaways, a beach run staged in its boxers, founder panels, trade coverage. Singles at ₹349 mean the lowest first order of the three — a brand with a low entry ticket needs to be liked more than it needs to be persuasive.

03 — What travels

Worth borrowing

Five things one brand has proved and another has not tried

01Put the idea in the product FREECULTR prints a weekday on each waistband, so a photograph sells the seven-pack.
02Run creator posts as media 33% of XYXX's ads are creator footage. FREECULTR runs 4%, Bummer none.
03Earn what you can't buy Bummer's biggest posts are partnerships and events that cost product, not media.
04The women's aisle is empty 33 of FREECULTR's 100 ads address women. None of the other 123 ads do.
05Voice is free Bummer's two written ads are the most distinctive copy in the set.
