Part two · the creator layer

197 creator posts,
three ways of getting them.

Every Instagram post published since 1 September 2025 that tags XYXX, FREECULTR or Bummer, or is co-authored with them. Same window, same rule, same day of reading — so the differences between the three are real differences, not artefacts of how they were pulled.

01 — The structure

How the content arrives

Bought, tagged, or earned

The single biggest difference between these three brands is not what creators say about them. It is how the post comes to exist in the first place.

Codes rather than labels is worth a note. FREECULTR's creator captions carry personal discount codes — ANKUSH, RAHUL10, CC10, GUNEETFC — which is a commercial arrangement tracked by sales rather than declared in the post. It is a different disclosure practice from XYXX's, and it tells you the brand is paying on performance rather than on reach.

02 — What they talk about

The creator vocabulary

Creator captions echo the ads at two brands, and go elsewhere at the third

FREECULTR's creator captions carry the same fabric argument as its ads — 34% mention it, against 6% of Bummer's. XYXX's creator captions lean on fit and style rather than fabric, which fits what those posts are actually selling: jackets, hoodies, polos, joggers and tees far more often than underwear. Its paid ads are 80% innerwear; its creator layer is mostly the rest of the wardrobe. That is a deliberate division of labour, not a drift.

03 — Concentration

Where the reach sits

One post carries most of the year

For two of the three brands, a single post accounts for about nine-tenths of all the engagement their creator layer produced in twelve months. FREECULTR is the most evenly spread of the three, and it is the only one whose top post is directly about the product.

Concentration on its own is not a weakness — one very large post is how most creator programmes actually pay out. What matters is whether the big post is about the product. XYXX's biggest is a viral sketch by @virsaini at 1.54M engagement in which the brand is a placement. Bummer's biggest is a lifestyle post about "affordable luxury" at 97.6k. FREECULTR's biggest is @iankushkasana at 121.2k, and it is an Everyday Expression post with a discount code in the caption.

Method. Instagram public tagged feed and each brand's own grid, read 10 September 2026, limited to posts published on or after 1 September 2025. A post counts as a creator post when the author or a co-author is not the brand. Engagement is likes plus three times comments; Instagram does not publish view counts, so this is a proxy and not a reach figure. Follower counts are not returned on these feeds, so no creator-tier split is shown. Bummer's tagged feed includes business and trade accounts as well as consumer creators, which is itself part of the finding.
